The Perfect Night
Just got back from literally the perfect night. Family, friends, home cooked Asian food, board games, dancing, late night Korean BBQ, and karaoke. As much as I have truly enjoyed the past few weeks I have spent in SF (Christmas eve with the family, friends treating me to AMAZING dinners, the best birthday ever, people driving me around to see breathtaking sights and allowing me to enjoy the city) -- tonight felt like the grand finale (even though I still have 4 more days here!).
The evening kicked off with a wonderfully delicious dinner and fun board games with both friends and family from Oklahoma and Cali. I'm so touched that my friends had the opportunity to meet my huge family, a treat that not many of my other friends have experienced -- one of the many, many reasons why I want to move out to SF. Following dinner and games, we all came out to Sutra and had an amazing time together. It's been a while since I've danced so much that my legs have felt so sore. You would figure all that DDR would've helped out, huh. Guess I've gotten a bit rusty.
HUGE thanks to Stella and Daniel for tonight. You both made my night unforgettable.
Thanks to James, Kae, Nickie, Brian and Marie for tearing up the dance floor with me.
Huge, huge props to the best wingman and the best little brother that I could ever ask for -- Nickie, my one true love.
Tonight was my first experience at a karaoke bar and I sincerely doubt any future experience will top it. Each and every one of you made the moment so much better. I'll always treasure my memories of Quit Playing Games With My Heart, Love Story, Sweet Caroline, Don't Stop Believing, Build Me Up Buttercup, Summer Nights and Under the Sea (which made for an incredibly finale).
Thank you to Tanya, Bryant and Paula for chauffeuring us around from Walnut Creek to SF and to SJ.
Thank you to Brian and Marie for treating us to a DELICIOUS round of late night Korean BBQ which hit the spot.
At the beginning of the evening right after a great workout with Brian and Marie -- I honestly could not fathom how wonderful the night would have turned out. I just wanted to take the time and tag all of you to thank you for sharing the perfect night with me. Each and every one of you have become an important part of my life and I cannot begin to thank you enough. Having friends and family like you makes me so excited for the new year -- a feeling that I have not felt for a long time. There's a reason why family and friends come first on my interests list on Facebook and it is exactly because of people like you.
And for the people that I have not mentioned that weren't able to be a part of tonight - please know that I was thinking of all of you. I'm so grateful that I have been able to spend the past few weeks here getting to know all of you better while growing closer to one another. From the deep talks that we have shared to the silly banter to the many moments that I'll remember forever -- I can't begin to tell you how much I appreciate you all.
And for any "How I Met Your Mother" fans, my time out here, in one word, has been legend-... wait for it... and I hope you're not lactose intolerant because the second half of that word is DAIRY!
